Job description

About Abundance Network

Abundance Network is a civic nonprofit membership organization built for a new wave of public-minded leaders who want to help shape a modern, 21st-century government. The organization is guided by a belief that government can play a meaningful role in solving major social challenges and expanding broadly shared prosperity. Its culture is rooted in humility, curiosity, and a focus on measurable outcomes.

Citizen Membership Program

The Citizen Membership program serves as Abundance Network’s donor and supporter network. It brings together leaders, philanthropists, and professionals who contribute to and advocate for the abundance movement. The team behind the program handles prospecting, pipeline management, onboarding, stewardship, and the overall member experience.

Role Overview

Abundance Network is hiring a Citizen Members Community Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Citizen Members program, including the network of Contributors and Builders who support and promote the Abundance Movement. This is a full-time, onsite position based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The role sits at the center of a high-engagement, high-trust member community. The person in this position will help shape member programs, keep them running smoothly, and work closely with the Director of Membership, as well as the communications and product teams. The job also includes managing the online member experience, supporting events, finding speakers, and maintaining a useful, up-to-date member portal.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee member communications across multiple channels, including WhatsApp groups, email updates, event invitations, and announcements.
  • Monitor engagement levels, identify when participation is dropping, and highlight chances to deepen member connection.
  • Respond to incoming questions and requests, direct inquiries to the right team members, and help connect members with one another and with relevant opportunities.
  • Maintain the member portal by regularly refreshing resources, event listings, policy materials, and directory details.
  • Collect member feedback and suggestions, organize recurring themes, and share key priorities with leadership.
  • Organize and support recurring community activities such as monthly virtual calls, member meetups, and informal gatherings.
  • Research, evaluate, and reach out to potential speakers for member calls and other programming, then coordinate confirmations.
  • Partner with the Director of Membership on pipeline tracking and conversion monitoring.

Who You Are

  • You are dependable, follow through on commitments, and can be counted on.
  • You take initiative, spot what needs to be built, and work independently to make it happen.
  • You learn quickly and adapt fast to new tools, context, and relationships.
  • You are comfortable coordinating with leaders and teams across different functions.
  • You communicate warmly, pay attention to people, and are easy to collaborate with.
  • You care about the abundance agenda, including housing, transit, energy, and making systems work better.
  • You bring energy and enthusiasm to a movement-oriented environment.

Compensation

The annual salary for this role is $60,000, along with benefits.
