Role Overview

The Customer Development Manager will be responsible for driving account growth, strengthening customer partnerships, and ensuring strong in-store execution across selected accounts. The role is based in Riyadh, with travel expected about 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

The position covers sales performance, customer engagement, execution in stores, and business development across a group of accounts.

  • Deliver sales, margin, and volume goals for assigned accounts while making sure the 5P standards are properly executed in store.
  • Build strong partnerships with accounts at store and regional levels through relationship management and negotiation with store operations and in-store teams.
  • Share feedback on competitor activity and in-store conditions so the right actions and tactics can be applied and reported to the CDTL.
  • Work with the RM to create account-specific plans and promotions and ensure they are implemented effectively.
  • Translate the channel strategy created by CDTL into selected accounts, focusing on both qualitative 5P execution and quantitative metrics such as sales per account, store, category, and SKU.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders such as junior buyers and store managers at regional and store level.
  • Conduct negotiations related to planograms, displays, and promotional execution at regional office or store level as needed.
  • Coordinate special events such as store-level sell-in, in-store communication, and materials handling in coordination with the RM team and CDTL.
  • Improve account profitability by analyzing performance, identifying opportunities, and preparing action plans.
  • Prepare business reviews twice a year together with CDTL and GM to discuss customers and mutual growth opportunities.
  • Visit stores regularly to identify improvement areas and support stronger execution.
  • Coach merchandisers and in-store staff, making sure they are trained and updated on new products, promotions, and merchandising goals.
  • Work with CDTL and RM to develop tools, merchandising materials, and in-store programs that improve shelf management and shopper conversion.
  • Monitor data collection to ensure 5P performance is tracked accurately against targets.
  • Communicate store objectives clearly and track execution of assortment, shelf pricing, promotions, availability, share of shelf, planograms, and POP placement.
  • Resolve operational issues at regional offices or in stores when they arise.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, along with relevant market and account development experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HSM/Pharma-DS environment in the Saudi market.
  • Proven experience in developing business for selected customers.
  • Strong command of English and Arabic.
  • A bachelor’s degree or similar qualification is required.
