Job description

Role overview

This position is for a Defense Operations Manager based in Washington, D.C. and supporting the Defense executive office. The role reports to the Defense Chief of Staff and is part of a team that assists the Defense President and RRNA CEO, the wider Defense leadership group, and employees across Defense in achieving business goals.

Working pattern

This is a hybrid position with an expectation of three in-office days each week.

What you will do

  • Help the President/CEO and leadership team work more efficiently by coordinating Defense governance activities, backing the DLT with governance execution, and maintaining standard diaries.
  • Own or support strategic initiatives that align with Defense priorities, including business reviews and VIP site visits.
  • Create executive-level presentations and written papers that support senior leadership decisions.
  • Improve the movement of information, governance, and decision-making so the Defense organization can meet its objectives.
  • Act as a backup to the President of Defense/CEO of RRNA’s Chief of Staff and executive assistant when needed.

Minimum qualifications

  • Associate degree with at least 7 years of experience in business, project management, or communications; or
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in business, project management, or communications; or
  • Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience in business, project management, or communications; or
  • JD or PhD; or
  • At least 9 years of relevant experience in business, project management, or communications if you do not hold a degree.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to be eligible for consideration.

Preferred background

  • Five or more years of experience in the Defense business.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with leaders and cross-functional teams while building strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with executives, leadership, and people at all levels of the organization.
