About the role
We are seeking a hands-on and organized Fleet Supervisor to manage day-to-day fleet activities and keep vehicles available, safe, compliant, and cost-effective. This role is suited to someone with a background in transportation fleet management, vehicle upkeep, driver oversight, and operational reporting in a busy logistics or supply chain setting.
What you'll do
- Oversee everyday fleet activity to maintain high vehicle availability and efficient operations.
- Assign vehicles and drivers according to delivery schedules and business demand.
- Review fleet usage and look for ways to raise productivity and minimize idle time.
- Arrange preventive servicing and corrective repairs with workshops and service partners.
- Make sure all vehicles have current registrations, insurance, inspections, and required compliance documents.
- Monitor fuel usage, repair and maintenance spend, and other fleet costs while helping reduce expenses.
- Check vehicle condition and ensure safety requirements and company policies are followed consistently.
- Look into accidents, vehicle damage, traffic offenses, and operational issues, then put corrective measures in place as needed.
- Manage driver attendance, conduct, compliance, and adherence to safety rules.
- Assist with driver onboarding, training, and performance development activities.
- Work closely with Operations, Warehouse, Procurement, Finance, and outside vendors to keep fleet processes running smoothly.
- Maintain complete and accurate fleet records, logs, and operational reports.
- Prepare periodic fleet performance updates and KPI reports for leadership review.
- Spot opportunities to improve processes and apply practical solutions that strengthen efficiency, service quality, and fleet performance.
- Contribute to fleet growth, optimization, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Transportation, or a similar field is required.
- You should have 3 to 5 years of experience in fleet operations, transportation, logistics, or supply chain roles.
- At least 2 years of prior supervisory experience is needed.
- Experience handling commercial vehicles, vans, trucks, or distribution fleets is important.
- Strong understanding of fleet management and transportation operations is expected.
- Background in vehicle maintenance coordination and compliance tracking is required.
- Knowledge of cost control, route planning, and vendor coordination is necessary.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities are needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools is required.
- Good communication and cross-team coordination skills are important.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced operational environment is essential.
