Job description

Role Overview

This position sits at the crossroads of HR operations and technology. The successful candidate will act as a business analyst, working with stakeholders to turn employee-lifecycle challenges into practical system improvements and well-defined technical requirements. The role is highly collaborative and fast moving, with a focus on improving HR technology experiences across internal and third-party applications.

What You Will Do

  • Keep HR technology requests moving by sharing timely updates, calling out blockers, and gathering any missing details needed to process enhancement requests across HRIS, HCM, and employee lifecycle systems.
  • Work with HR business partners, People Operations, and requestors to frame problems clearly, define success measures, and establish business priority.
  • Review the business rationale and impact statements provided by requestors and use the enhancement scoring approach for HR technology initiatives.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering with HR stakeholders, People Operations, engineering partners, and other cross-functional teams, while resolving follow-up questions from both business and technical sides.
  • Quickly get comfortable with a range of internal tools and applications, including Workday, Salesforce, DocuSign/SpringCM, and other employee-lifecycle systems, by researching documentation and consulting subject matter experts.
  • Apply solid solution-design and governance practices to improve and prioritize requirements within HR policy and compliance boundaries.
  • Learn, follow, and help improve enhancement-request and project workflows for HR technology and employee experience improvements.
  • Handle escalations from HR stakeholders with empathy while balancing company priorities and engineering capacity.
  • Contribute to monthly team meetings, team-building efforts, technical discussions, peer reviews, the OP wiki/knowledge base, and status reporting to OP Account Management when needed.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years of practical experience with HR systems, HRIS, or HCM platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, career development, compensation, benefits, time and leave, and offboarding.
  • Hands-on experience with HR technology implementations and system integrations across hire-to-retire processes.
  • Working knowledge of HR compliance, employment law considerations, and global mobility requirements.
  • Experience improving employee experience and supporting People Operations workflows.
  • At least 4 years of experience with Salesforce and Workday configuration across modules such as Core HR, Benefits, Compensation, Time & Leave, Payroll, and Recruiting.
  • Solid understanding of Workday security provisioning.
  • Workday HCM and Salesforce certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Workday integrations, including Studio, EIB, and WWS APIs.
  • Knowledge of Workday functional areas such as security, business processes, reporting, data management, calculated fields, and custom reporting.
  • Understanding of enterprise integration patterns and middleware solutions connected to Workday.
  • Strong business analysis capability, including requirements gathering and definition for HR technology projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex HR processes into technical requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage several HR technology projects at once.
  • Expertise in solution design and business-system governance in the HR domain.
  • Knowledge of HR application architecture and technical documentation such as BRDs, FRDs, and process flows.
  • Experience with UAT planning and execution for HR system implementations.
  • Understanding of change management, impact assessment, and data privacy/security requirements such as GDPR and employee data protection.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Salesforce for HR integration and case management.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Service Cloud for employee support workflows.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce AI features such as Agentforce and Einstein.
  • Experience with Salesforce-Workday integrations and data synchronization.
  • Exposure to AI tools, conversational AI, workflow automation, and process optimization.
  • Experience introducing AI-enabled solutions into HR technology environments.
  • Understanding of automation opportunities within employee-lifecycle processes.
  • DocuSign/SpringCM experience for document automation and onboarding.
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple HR technology initiatives effectively.
  • Change control board experience in HR technology governance.
  • Project management experience related to HR system implementations.
  • Experience supporting global HR operations and multi-entity configurations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Human Resources Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR systems, business analysis, or HR technology roles.
  • Demonstrated success in HR technology implementations and process improvement.
