About the Role
Shive-Hattery is seeking a full-time Interior Designer with 2 to 5 years of experience for its Iowa City office. As a comprehensive design firm offering interior design, architecture, engineering, and landscape architecture services, this role is crucial to our design team, involving all project phases and aspects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the project team from initial programming and scope definition through design, documentation, and implementation phases.
- Partner with the project architect and/or senior Interior Designer on all elements of project delivery.
- Assist in the creation and development of design presentations.
- Perform Revit/BIM modeling and contribute to project documentation.
- Adhere to project development and production standards.
- Commit to continuous personal improvement and professional education.
Requirements
- A recent graduate from an accredited Interior Design program.
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design.
- NCIDQ Certification or the capability to obtain it.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, articulate, and present design concepts effectively to project teams, clients, and external vendors/agencies.
- Previous experience or a strong interest in working on commercial workplace projects.
- Proficiency in or a willingness to learn REVIT, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant graphic software.
- Up-to-date knowledge of materials, finishes, furnishings, and equipment, including best practices for selection, procurement, and installation management.
- Exceptional communication skills.
