Role overview

Morrison Healthcare, part of Compass Healthcare, is looking for full-time and part-time Janitors to support cleanliness and sanitation at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves keeping the facility orderly, safe, and presentable for patients, visitors, and staff.

Schedule and location

This position is based at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, 2010 Brookwood Medical Center Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209. The schedule is full time or part time, from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with days that may change. More details will be shared during the interview. Only online applications are accepted.

What you will do

The janitor will handle general and heavy-duty cleaning tasks across assigned areas. Work includes trash removal, floor care, surface sanitation, and maintaining compliance with cleaning and safety procedures.

• Remove and dispose of waste in line with approved infection-control and disposal procedures.
• Dust and mop floors using the required methods.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for effective cleaning, then return items to their proper place.
• Clean assigned spaces using designated supplies and equipment, and sanitize all surfaces following the eight-step cleaning process.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to keep the environment clean and safe.
• Identify areas that need attention and take initiative to complete cleaning tasks.
• Carry out assignments given by the supervisor.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and county regulations.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets as required.
• Work cooperatively with the team and maintain a professional approach with customers, coworkers, and others.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Benefits and compensation

The pay range is $15.00 to $17.00 per hour.
