What you will do
You will keep the swimming area safe and welcoming by watching for guests in distress, unsafe behavior, unusual activity, or anyone struggling in the water. When needed, you will use the proper rescue techniques and provide help to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
The role also includes reinforcing recreation area rules, alerting a supervisor or manager if a guest should not safely take part in an activity, and maintaining a positive, comfortable environment for visitors.
In addition, you will fold, stack, and handle towels according to company procedures, clean and scrub the pool deck area, and report accidents, injuries, safety concerns, and maintenance issues. You will also complete required safety training and any necessary certifications.
Professional standards and conduct
You are expected to follow all company safety policies and procedures, protect company property and confidential information, and maintain a neat, professional appearance and uniform. The job requires teamwork, respectful conduct with coworkers, and support in achieving shared goals and quality standards.
Physical and communication requirements
This role involves frequent standing, sitting, and walking for long periods, as well as moving quickly when work situations require it. You must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, move, and position objects under 50 lbs (22.50 kg) without assistance, and help handle items above 75 lbs (33.75 kg). The work may involve climbing ladders, stairs, ramps, and service steps; moving across uneven, sloped, or slippery surfaces; and reaching overhead, below the knees, bending, twisting, crouching, and kneeling.
You will need to visually inspect tools and equipment for defects, handle objects of different shapes and weights with good hand-eye coordination, and communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members, including answering phones appropriately. Greeting and acknowledging guests according to company standards is also part of the role.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred for this role. No prior related work experience is required, and no prior supervisory experience is needed.
Required certifications
You must have CPR certification, first aid certification, physical training equipment, and any other licenses or training required by local or state authorities.
About the employer
