Job Summary
Morgan McKinley is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join their team in Waterford, Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers when required.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and assist with stock control activities.
Requirements
- Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a maintenance technician role within manufacturing, industrial, pharmaceutical, logistics, or facilities environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
- Good computer skills and experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- Trade certification or degree qualification.
- Experience in a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical, food production, or medical devices.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and automation equipment.
