Overview
CoreCivic is hiring a Maintenance Worker for its secure institutional setting in Holdenville, Oklahoma. The role is focused on keeping the facility operating safely and efficiently while supporting a high standard of service and professionalism. This position is hands-on and supports the upkeep of the building, equipment, systems, vehicles, and grounds.
The pay rate for this role is $21.74 per hour.
What the job involves
- Carry out repairs and upkeep on the facility’s physical structure so operations remain safe and secure.
- Examine equipment and machines, identify faults, and complete repairs.
- Install or fix electrical parts, wiring, and related electronic components in machinery and equipment.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance in line with the maintenance plan.
- Oversee and keep track of inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent credential is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in general maintenance or construction is required.
- Relevant technical or trade school coursework in maintenance or construction may be used in place of the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Prior knowledge of building construction and how building systems operate is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
