Role Overview

The Melter position in Abu Dhabi is focused on supporting Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF) operations through hands-on production, equipment care, material handling, and safety-critical support activities. The role contributes to reliable furnace performance, safe lifting practices, and the steady production of quality steel.

Core Duties

• Carry out assigned furnace-related manual work to keep EAF/LRF operations running in line with production plans and supervisor instructions.
• Assist with electrode changes and manually charge materials such as carbon, aluminium, and ferroalloys into the furnace.
• Support ladle preparation and maintenance for transferring molten steel safely and efficiently.
• Perform rigging and slinging for electrodes, furnace components, ladles, and other heavy materials using safe lifting methods.
• Work with crane operators to move pallets, material, and heavy loads while respecting lifting limits and safety rules.
• Serve as a signalman during lifting activities by using standard hand signals, communication tools, and approved procedures to guide crane movements.

Experience and Job Fit

This role calls for strong practical experience in steel plant operations, particularly in EAF/LF/CCM production routes with DRI. The employer is seeking candidates with roughly 4 or more years of overall experience, including about 3 to 5 years specifically working as a Melter in a steel plant.
