About the Company

Peter Duffy Limited operates within United Infrastructure, a fast-growing organisation focused on delivering essential infrastructure works across the UK. The business has built its reputation over many years and provides civil engineering, utility, and infrastructure services with an emphasis on safe, high-quality, and forward-thinking delivery.

By being part of United Infrastructure, Peter Duffy Limited brings together local knowledge, established delivery capability, and the backing of a larger national group. The wider business supports communities, helps maintain vital UK infrastructure, and develops skilled teams for the future.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organised Planner who can keep project programmes accurate, efficient, and aligned to delivery needs. This role suits someone who enjoys working with schedules, improving timelines, and making a measurable contribution to project success in a busy environment.

Key Duties

  • Build, maintain, and refine detailed project schedules, including milestones and resource planning.
  • Monitor programme progress, assess performance information, and spot possible delays or bottlenecks early.
  • Prepare clear planning outputs and reports such as Gantt charts, S-curves, and histograms for stakeholders.
  • Review scheduling risks, run scenario-based planning exercises, and suggest practical mitigation actions.
  • Support better planning processes by introducing best practices, encouraging continuous improvement, and helping others use planning tools effectively.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in project planning and scheduling within utilities, construction, or infrastructure.
  • Strong working knowledge of streetworks legislation.
  • Advanced ability in MS Excel, along with data analysis skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a straightforward way to teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Additional Information

This is an opportunity to join a team working on important infrastructure projects and contribute to sustainable, innovative solutions that support the UK's water, wastewater, and wider utility networks.
