Project Engineer

Brian Perry Civil is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Wellington team. Role Summary

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing day-to-day delivery on site. Working with crews, subcontractors, and project leaders, you will help ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard. The position gives you ownership of your work area and the ability to influence delivery on the ground.

Key Duties

• Create and maintain work plans across daily, weekly, and longer-term timeframes.
• Organise crews, plant, materials, and subcontractor activity to support smooth delivery.
• Take the lead on site operations while upholding strong health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Monitor progress, output, and major project milestones.
• Handle risk awareness, cost tracking, and project-related reporting.
• Develop productive working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

What You Need

The company welcomes applicants from civil, structural, or foundation-related backgrounds who want to stay close to project delivery and solve practical site issues. You should bring a tertiary qualification in engineering or a similar discipline, along with roughly 5 or more years of experience in civil or infrastructure work. A solid grasp of construction methods and sequencing is important, as is the ability to coordinate teams, subcontractors, and resources confidently. Strong organisation, planning, and problem-solving abilities, plus clear communication and relationship-building skills, are also expected.
