Role overview
AIR Sligo, now part of the global AIR Group, is looking for a motivated and ambitious Project Manager to own the execution and rollout of custom automated equipment projects. In this role, you will be the central point of contact for the customer internally, while aligning multiple teams to deliver complex automation solutions successfully.
What you will do
- Oversee delivery across a portfolio of projects.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for project execution, from kick-off through to aftercare for installed machines.
- Make sure customer user requirement specifications are met to the expected standard.
- Ensure all project deliverables are completed to the required quality.
- Prepare and manage the full documentation set, including quality, safety, and end-user documents.
- Keep delivery on track so projects meet contracted timelines.
- Monitor progress to ensure milestones are achieved within allocated resources.
- Work with the management team to resolve clashes in staffing and planning across projects.
- Manage internal and external scope changes and change requests.
- Support clear technical and commercial communication among all stakeholders.
- Keep customers and AIR Sligo managers updated through regular project reviews.
- Coordinate Design, Controls, Debug, and Workshop teams to prioritise work effectively.
- Build schedules for each stage of delivery.
- Assess and resolve planning and delivery problems as they come up.
- Create and drive project plans through to completion.
- Help teams solve issues quickly during the project, especially technical blockers.
- Maintain a solid grasp of the main functional and technical challenges affecting each project.
- Track project issues in a structured way using standard project management tools, and prioritise fixes based on available resources and deadlines.
- Escalate issues promptly when required so timelines are protected.
What we are looking for
- A degree in Engineering or Project Management, or a closely related discipline.
- Previous experience in a comparable role.
- Strong evidence of taking ownership and consistently delivering on commitments.
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach in an engineering setting.
- A proven ability to solve problems and deliver complex engineering work.
- Someone who shows initiative and brings innovative thinking.
