Quality Inspector - Electrical

This position is for a Quality Inspector (Electrical) based in Doha, Qatar, supporting a government-sector client. The role focuses on verifying that electrical works are executed to the required quality standards, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for ensuring assigned tasks are completed against agreed KPIs and SLAs while working closely with client representatives, contractors, and other stakeholders. The role involves routine and ad hoc site inspections of electrical installations to confirm compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, local rules, and applicable international standards.

Your work will cover a wide range of electrical systems and components, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, low-voltage systems, control panels, cabling, and related infrastructure. You will also monitor contractor execution to ensure alignment with approved Inspection and Test Plans, Method Statements, and Quality Management System requirements.

The position includes witnessing testing and commissioning activities such as cable testing, continuity checks, insulation resistance checks, functional testing, and overall system performance verification. You will identify defects, deviations, and non-conformances, then recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Additional duties include investigating repeated quality problems, performing root cause analysis, preparing inspection reports with evidence and photos, maintaining accurate quality records, and ensuring proper document control. You will also provide technical support to field teams, coordinate with consultants and contractors to resolve quality issues, support best practices, and help maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements. Participation in on-call escalation rosters and support for colleagues may also be required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should bring at least 8 years of relevant experience in electrical quality inspection, construction supervision, or quality assurance within infrastructure, utilities, or building projects. A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, is required.

You should have practical experience applying and maintaining ISO 9001-based Quality Management Systems, along with solid knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including local authority requirements and standards such as IEC or BS. The role also requires confidence in reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, test documentation, and quality records.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to prepare detailed reports, and effective stakeholder management are essential. Experience with government clients or large-scale infrastructure projects will be an added advantage. Candidates who can communicate in both Arabic and English will be preferred.
