About Mindrift
Mindrift connects specialists with project-based AI opportunities for leading tech companies. Our focus is on testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems. Participation is project-based, not permanent employment.
What This Opportunity Involves
While each project involves unique tasks, contributors may be involved in the following:
- Designing original computational physics problems that simulate real physics research workflows.
- Creating problems that require Python programming to solve, utilizing libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
- Ensuring problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes (days/weeks).
- Developing problems that demand non-trivial reasoning chains in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
- Basing problems on actual research challenges or practical applications from physics practice.
- Verifying solutions using Python with standard physics simulation libraries.
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified correct answers.
What We Look For
This opportunity is well-suited for physicists with Python experience who are open to part-time, non-permanent projects. Ideally, candidates will possess:
- A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Equivalent knowledge in MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, or Stata is also considered.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, which can include applied, research, or teaching experience.
- Experience with numerical simulation methods.
- The ability to design problems that accurately mirror real physics research workflows.
- Creative thinking skills applicable to problem design across diverse physics areas.
- Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques.
- Strong written English skills, equivalent to C1 level or higher.
How It Works
The process involves applying, passing qualifications, joining a project, completing tasks, and receiving payment.
Project Time Expectations
For this specific project, tasks are estimated to require approximately 10-20 hours per week during active phases, depending on project requirements. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload, applicable only while the project is active.
Compensation
On this project, contributors can earn up to an equivalent of $45 per hour, based on their skill level and contribution pace. Compensation may vary across different projects on the platform depending on their scope, complexity, and the expertise required.
Additional Information
Please submit your CV in English and indicate your level of English proficiency.
