Role overview

This position sits within the Ancillary family group in the Dietetics and Catering Services department. The storekeeper plays an important part in supporting food services by receiving, checking, storing, and issuing goods, while keeping stock records accurate and the store area clean and orderly.

What the job involves

• Check incoming vendor deliveries for kitchen use and verify that the goods are in proper condition.
• Help keep inventory at approved levels, including when demand spikes or emergency situations arise.
• Issue dry rations to wards every day.
• Store and release supplies for the kitchen, department, and wards.
• Record daily posting and distribution of dry rations and cooking items.
• Weigh, portion, and pack dry rations for ward distribution.
• Support the Senior Storekeeper in preparing and issuing dry rations to the wards and kitchen.
• Ensure general stores are arranged properly and kept in good storage condition.
• Assist with dry ration checks carried out in the wards.
• Help the Senior Storekeeper with record maintenance and data entry.
• Keep stock balances accurate at all times.
• Carry out any other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

The role calls for a service-minded person who is confident, helpful, and motivated to contribute to others’ wellbeing. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important, along with a cooperative attitude and willingness to learn. Candidates should also be prepared to work on weekends and public holidays. Educationally, the role requires at least GCE O Level or NTC 2, together with 1 to 2 years of store-related experience. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is also needed.

Working conditions

This is a full-time, on-site position in Singapore.
