About the Role

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a dedicated Store Driver to join our team in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. This full-time, onsite position involves ensuring timely and safe delivery of automotive parts to our valued customers. You will play a key role in customer relationship management, sales support, and maintaining store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely pick, stage, and deliver automotive parts to professional customers.
  • Collect customer returns and old parts (cores).
  • Distribute weekly and monthly sales flyers, actively promoting current sales and loyalty programs.
  • Manage daily collection of payments for credit accounts.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing valuable insights to the Commercial Program Partner (CPP).
  • Contribute to increasing average transaction value by assisting with upselling and cross-selling products.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, restrooms, product displays, and the parking lot.
  • Perform general stocking duties, including truck stocking, managing back stock, and conducting cycle counts.
  • Stay informed about product inventory and new arrivals to effectively assist customers with sales.
  • Engage with walk-in customers to identify their needs and recommend suitable parts or services.
  • Undertake other assigned duties as required.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrate safe driving and navigation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in using a delivery board system.
  • Exhibit friendly and persuasive communication skills.
  • Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently.
  • Possess safety knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
  • Experience operating inventory systems (e.g., back stock) and store equipment.
  • Strong sales aptitude and a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Capability to identify customer needs and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently; Spanish is a plus.
  • Effectively communicate and build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
  • Accurately perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including various days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products.
  • Eagerness to learn about new products and sales techniques.
  • Automotive parts experience is preferred.

Eligibility

This role is open to individuals who meet the specified requirements and are looking for a full-time, onsite position. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are mandatory. Prior automotive parts experience is advantageous.
