Job description
Role overview
Rockit Ranch Productions is looking for a videographer/editor to capture, organize, and turn fast-moving visual content into polished short-form assets for social channels. The role centers on social-first storytelling with a mix of live event coverage, brand moments, and behind-the-scenes material.
Content capture
- Shoot video with an iPhone, camera, and any other gear needed to complete the assignment.
- Cover activations, events, media appearances, restaurant visits, and other special projects when required.
- Record founder/CEO features, interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, food and beverage scenes, team culture, and lifestyle content.
- Spot and capture spontaneous content opportunities as they arise.
- Comfortably produce high-quality footage on both mobile and professional camera setups across different environments.
- Set up and monitor audio properly, including microphone selection and sound quality checks.
Content editing
- Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and similar digital platforms.
- Focus primarily on social-first short-form pieces, with occasional longer-form storytelling projects.
- Enhance edits with captions, music, transitions, and graphics suited to social media use.
- Build multiple platform-specific versions of the same content when needed.
- Keep up with current social trends, including trending audio and evolving edit styles.
- Maintain a posting-ready output of around 12 to 16 video pieces each month.
- Turn around urgent content within 24 to 48 hours for timely events, appearances, or trend-driven moments.
- Reuse longer recordings into several short clips to maximize reach and content volume.
Content organization
- Upload footage into shared drives and content libraries in an orderly way.
- Keep raw clips, final edits, and approved files neatly archived.
- Label and sort content so it can be reused efficiently later.
Collaboration
- Partner with the marketing team to align with content priorities and campaign objectives.
- Take part in planning sessions for upcoming content.
- Contribute ideas for new concepts, trends, and social opportunities.
- Handle several assignments and deadlines at the same time.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience creating and editing social media content.
- Good working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and current content trends.
- Ability to use editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or comparable software.
- Strong sense of storytelling and close attention to detail.
- Comfort working in fast-paced shooting environments.
- Self-motivated approach with the ability to identify content ideas independently.
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends for events.
- Comfort and skill with both iPhone-based creation and professional camera systems.
Preferred background
Experience in hospitality, food and beverage, entertainment, lifestyle, or personal brand content is a plus. Familiarity with camera operation, microphones, and lighting equipment is also preferred, and graphic design experience is an added advantage.
What success looks like
- A steady stream of strong content across all platforms.
- A dependable production pipeline that supports daily publishing needs.
- Fast movement from filming to final delivery.
- Well-managed, easy-to-find content assets.
- Proactive spotting of content opportunities.
- Ability to tell authentic stories that boost engagement and strengthen the brand.
