Job description
Role Overview
This is an entry-level store role focused on supporting commercial deliveries and helping the store with inventory-related tasks. The position involves transporting parts to commercial customers, and it may be scheduled as either part-time or full-time. Fleet safety certification is required.
Core Duties
- Transport parts safely to customers when needed.
- Prepare and stage parts for customer orders.
- Collect returned items and cores.
- Distribute weekly and monthly sales flyers.
- Handle daily collection activities for credit accounts.
Additional Store Support
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, product facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
- Support stocking activities such as truck unloading, stocking the sales floor, and organizing back stock.
Success Factors
- Confident driving and route navigation skills.
- Ability to operate a delivery board system.
- Professional and friendly customer communication.
- Capability to find, organize, and stock parts accurately.
- Strong awareness of safe work practices.
- Comfort using inventory systems and store equipment.
Required Job Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Skill in reading safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance documents, parts catalogs, and procedure guides.
- Solid basic math ability, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across standard units, fractions, and decimals.
- Flexibility to work various days, evenings, and weekends as required.
Experience Preference
Prior experience in automotive parts is preferred.
Licensing Requirement
A valid driver’s license is mandatory, along with fleet safety certification.
Physical Requirements
This job is primarily active and on your feet. The role involves frequent walking and standing, along with regular use of hands and fingers, speaking, hearing, reaching, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and may occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Most work is performed indoors, though some outdoor exposure is expected when completing tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades. At times, the role may involve moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, chemicals, electrical shock risk, explosives, and vibration. The noise level is generally moderate.
